The "CEO Alliance for Europe's Recovery, Reform and Resilience" was formed in 2020 as a cross-sectoral climate protection project, to collaborate on practical solutions. Danske Energinet has secured a billion loan for the new Viking Link power cable to the United Kingdom. The total price tag for the project is NOK 8.5 billion, of which the Nordic Investment Bank will loan DKK 1 billion. The Danish network operator is developing Viking Link together with the British National Grid, as a 770km long / 1,400 MW power connection, running between Jutland in Denmark and Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom.
According to the bank, the cable will enable Denmark and the United Kingdom to take advantage of the fact that their power production and power consumption peaks at slightly different times. The cable will be ready for use in 2023. (E24)
With the appetite for green shares sky high, new companies are trying to tap into the possibility of cheap capital. In March, Integrated Wind Solutions applied for admission to Euronext Growth and announced that the company was seeking to raise money. The company hopes to become a service provider for the offshore wind farms. Integrated Wind Solutions has plans to build up a fleet of special vessels that will contribute to the completion of the offshore wind farms, as well as service and maintenance. Last December, Saga Pure announced that it had acquired a share of just over 20% of Bergen Carbon Solutions. Bergen Carbon Solutions develops technology that will make it possible to produce carbon nanofibers from CO2 capture. The fibres are lighter than plastic, stronger than steel and conduct electricity better than copper. Sauda KF, together with Hy2gn Norge AS, will lead a feasibility study to investigate, and facilitate the establishment of large-scale production of green ammonia in Sauda, on Norway’s west coast. The Agenda Vestlandet foundation announced that it would support the project with NOK 1.8 million. If it proceeds, the factory will produce over 200,000 tpa of green ammonia, and provide 40-60 new jobs. (Sauda Kommun)
