Gasum opens Finland's first liquefied biogas plant
The extensive expansion and modernization process of Gasum's biogas plant in Topinoja, Turku, has been completed. The inauguration of the biogas plant was celebrated and the commercial operation of the plant commenced. The expansion of the Turku biogas plant was one of Sipilä's government's leading projects in Bioeconomy and Clean Solutions. The aim of the project is to increase the share of renewable energy in Finland in a sustainable way, especially by improving its supply.
RISE to open new centre for bioeconomy
In Sweden’s autumn budget RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) was allocated a supplement of SEK 350 million over two years to intensify work on sustainable solutions in the bioeconomy. The addition will strengthen RISE's investment in test beds for biorefineries. Now the first step is being taken in the establishment of a new centre where innovators, entrepreneurs, marketers and researchers can meet to scale up and commercialize new technology.
Norway gives local regions a veto for wind power
Recently Sweden’s government proposed to remove the veto for local municipalities. But Norway is heading in the opposite direction. Now, Norwegian municipalities will now be able to decide whether or not to allow wind turbines to be built in their municipality.
Analagous to the G20, headquartered in New York, the C40 is a group of cities representing over 700 million inhabitants with climate ambitions which account for about a quarter of the world's gross domestic product. A new C40 office in Oslo will be headed by Gaute Hagerup who comes from the position of head of the Oslo Business Region. Part of the justification for Oslo's C40 office is the city's work with a climate budget where climate goals are equated with economic goals. This has received a lot of attention in the C40 including from New York it is stated.
Clean Motion AB reports a loss
The electric vehicle manufacturer, Clean Motion AB, maker of the Zbee, a three-wheeler, presented its interim report for the first half of 2020. The company reported sales of SEK 962K and an operating loss of SEK -2,966K. The company announced that it has not yet received funds to complete its reconstruction.
Business identifies seven areas for Norwegian-German hydrogen cooperation

The Norwegian-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) has launched a position paper that identifies seven areas with special opportunities for closer bilateral cooperation in the development of a hydrogen economy. The areas are: Transport, production, exports, R&D, the maritime sector, regional cooperation and aviation.
