Denmark to issue green bond in 2022

Denmark will open a green bond with a coupon rate of 0% in 2022, and a maturity of 20 years. Green expenditures will fall under Denmark’s Green Bond Framework which includes the criteria governing the eligibility of expenditures financed by the green bond. Additionally, eligible expenditure will be evaluated based on the EU classification system for sustainable economic activities (the EU Taxonomy). By issuing the green bond, the Danish central government is committed to providing investors with transparent reporting which will be publicly available on Danmark Nationalbank’s website (Press release).  

EQT Ventures invests SEK 245 million in Candela

Candela has raised SEK 245 million from EQT Ventures and Chris Anderson for its electric flying boats. The money will be spent on scaling up production which will be moved from Lidingö, Stockholm, to a new 5,000 sqm automated facility. Candela expects to build 400 boats annually within 2 years. Although the boats have raised interest in several transportation sectors, EQT Ventures is attracted to the passenger transport sector which it states could be completely electrified with Candela’s boats, according to Lars Jörnow, Partner at EQT Ventures (Dagens Industri). 

Green Mountain builds data centre in Enebakk

Green Mountain has purchased 53,000 sqm land in proximity to its DC3-Oslo facility in Enebakk, Norway – with plans to expand the existing facility with a 13.5 MW colocation data centre. The company has already initiated the construction phase and is expected to finalise the data centre in November 2022, with goals of developing the site until it reaches full capacity of 75 MW. The new data centre will operate on 100% renewable energy and Green Mountain aims to connect it to the district heating grid, where waste heat is repurposed into nearby households (Press release).
