Equinor initiates collaboration with US Steel on hydrogen and carbon capture

US Steel is one of the world's largest steel producers, with large industrial plants in the states of Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. On Tuesday, the company entered into a letter of intent with Equinor, where they will together look at the possibilities of hydrogen and carbon capture, so-called CCS, using natural gas. The investment will take place in the Appalachians and will, according to US Steel, be an important contribution to a zero emission by 2050 in the USA. (Microsoft News)

Aker Clean Hydrogen and CapeOmega to investigate business opportunities in pure hydrogen and ammonia in Norway

Aker Clean Hydrogen has entered into an agreement with the infrastructure company CapeOmega to explore the business opportunities in pure hydrogen and ammonia. The intent is to identify uses to decarbonise local industrial processes and produce fuel without emissions for sea and road transport. (Stock Exchange announcement)

Quantafuel dives after postponing Skive project

Quantafuel dived 10% on the Oslo Stock Exchange after the Norwegian producer of synthetic fuel via chemical recycling postponed the completion of its project in Skive to the middle of the fourth quarter from the previously expected end of the third quarter. Quantafuel said that delivery times for key components have increased dramatically and many suppliers are unable to deliver according to agreed schedules.

Quantafuel is popular among private investors in Denmark, where the share in May took fifth place in Nordnet's top 10 of most bought shares with Nordnet's Danish customers. (NP Investor)

Swedish Energy Agency to support the development of hydrogen-powered aircraft engines

The Swedish Energy Agency has decided to support GKN Aerospace Sweden AB with SEK 15 million for the development of systems connected to hydrogen-powered aircraft engines. The project will develop technical solutions for subsystems that need to be developed to enable hydrogen operation of aircraft. The subsystems to be developed are for engine function and durability, fuel pumps and engine-integrated hydrogen-gas heat exchangers. The project is a collaboration between GKN Aerospace Sweden AB, the Royal Institute of Technology, Lund University, Chalmers University of Technology, University West, Oxeon AB and RISE Sicomp.
