In order to make the plant built in Boden more sustainable, H2 Green Steel, in collaboration with investors such as Harald Mix, Cristina Stenbeck and Daniel Ek, wanted to ensure that the residues and waste products generated during the steel production process were used. H2 Green Steel has therefore signed an agreement with Greeniron which has a process for recycling filter dust, electric plugs, grinding waste etc. Greeniron wants to place some of its patented reduction furnaces in the steel mill to create a circular cycle without long transport distances. The use of surplus products means that H2 Green Steel saves a lot of money. Among other things, both companies' processes are powered by hydrogen, which will be produced on site at Boden. Meanwhile, this summer H2 Green Steel received permission to start building a steel mill in Boden. The company plans to produce 5 million tonnes of steel by 2030. Greeniron, which also has the backing of former Ericsson CEO Carl-Henric Svanberg, Vestas Chairman Bert Nordberg and former Electrolux CEO Hans Stråberg, raised SEK 100 million at the end of 2021.
Ecoclime Group has received a new order worth SEK 7.6 million from Rikshem. The new order relates to three additional recirculating energy systems for the recovery of heat from waste water. During the first phase of the project this spring, Ecoclime Group delivered an Evertherm-type recirculating energy system for recovering heat from waste water. The results were very positive, with a recovery rate of 95%, which in turn contributed significantly to the energy efficiency of the property. Rikshem has now selected three similar systems for phase 2.
Construction work has now started on the solar cell factory at Coop's new cargo terminal in Eskilstuna. It will consist of approximately 14,400 solar panels and cover an area of approximately 38,000 m2. Its solar panels are CFP certified and manufactured from recycled silicon from Norway as well as silicon from the USA and Germany. Power generation is expected to start in January 2023. According to installer Soltech Energy Solutions, the recycled silicon in the product has doubled the sustainability of the project. At the same time it means that Coop will have the second largest rooftop solar cell facility in Sweden. The solar cell installation at Coop Cargo Terminal is estimated to cover approximately 50% of the property's annual electricity use.
