Gothenburg signs EU’s Green City Accord 

The city of Gothenburg is one of fifty cities that have signed the Green City Accord, a movement of European mayors to make cities cleaner and healthier through measures to accelerate EU environmental laws. Tangibly, these measures regard noise- and air pollution, circular economy, biodiversity, and waste management, according to municipal council Emmyly Bönfors (C) (Vårt Göteborg).

Maersk invests in e-fuel startup

Maersk Group has announced that it is investing in Prometheus Fuels, a California-based startup that develops a technology for producing renewable fuel from captured carbon dioxide. This investment showcases one of Maersk’s efforts towards becoming climate neutral by 2050. The Danish conglomerate also receive a seat in the board of the Silicon Valley-based company (Teknikdygnet).    

Advanced Soltech signs order in China: Generates SEK 52 million

Advanced Soltech’s subsidiary in China recently signed an order with Xinmaji Industrial Co Ltd for the installation of a 3.9 megawatt (MW) solar energy plant that is expected to provide annual revenues of approximately SEK 2.6 million, or SEK 52 million over the 20-year term. Construction of the facility is planned to start in 1Q22 in Guangdong Province, with an investment of SEK 22.4 million (Press release).

Permascand, Verdagy sign collaboration agreement: Green hydrogen production

Permascand and Verdagy have signed a collaboration agreement to co-develop a novel electrochemical cell for producing green hydrogen. The collaboration with Permascand is projected to accelerate the commercialisation of the electrochemical cell design that is the foundation of the Verdagy Water Electrolysis (VWE) process. Ultimately, the partners claim to unlock low-cost green hydrogen production by bringing the technology to a broader market (Press release).

Azelio raises SEK 16 million

Azelio has raised SEK 16 million through a warrant exercise. Holders of their warrant program ‘TO 27’ have exercised their warrants in accordance with the terms of agreement, whereby 448,000 shares will be issued. The warrant program, which was introduced in 2019 and expires 30 September 2021, gave its holders the right to subscribe for 1.12 new shares at a price of SEK 35.80 per share. The exercised warrants increased Azelio’s share capital by SEK 224,000 and the number of shares in the company by 448,000 (Press release).

Ecoclime launch standardised cloud service

Following Ecoclime’s strategy to develop and package new products and services, the company can now offer a standardised cloud service for an improved energy efficiency of properties. Ecoclime claims that the cloud service can lower the power requirements for heating properties by up to 50% through a forecasting process to reduce power peaks. The cloud service is launched primarily to property owners with which Ecoclime has business relations.(Press release).

TECO 2030 acquire tax-break for production of hydrogen fuel cells

TECO 2030 has been granted NOK 5.4 million in indirect support from the Research Council of Norway’s tax deduction program to develop its first semi-automated production line for hydrogen fuel cells at its new fuel cell facility and innovation centre in Narvik, Norway. This is the second year that TESCO 2030 received a tax-break, for its pilot project, with a prospected annual production capacity of 400 Megawatt (MW). The project will commence in the second half of 2022 and targets an annual production capacity of 1.2 Gigawatt (GW) by 2030 with expectations of introducing their hydrogen fuel cells to ships as a green alternative to diesel engines (Press release).

Nel receives purchase order for 5 MW alkaline electrolyser

Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS has received a purchase order from SGN to deliver a 5MW alkaline water electrolyser. The electrolyser, powered by a nearby offshore wind turbine and grid electricity, will be used for a 100% hydrogen-to-homes heating network on the east coast of Scotland. As a part of the contract, Nel provides the installation, commissioning, service, and maintenance of the electrolyser system, which is estimated to deliver approximately 2 tonnes of green hydrogen per day (Press release).
