Instabox has rapidly increased its network of smart automated parcel lockers in Germany. This week the first lockers will be placed in Hamburg.
Back in April Instabox partnered up with the German drugstore chain BUDNI. In connection with that, the first Instabox parcel locker was placed in one of BUDNI’s Berlin stores. The expansion to Hamburg will enable another 19 Instabox lockers in BUDNI stores and for the first time, Hamburg citizens will be able to try Instabox's fast, fossil free and flexible deliveries.
“We offer our customers an individual shopping experience and a neighborly attitude to life. Instabox is, therefore, a perfect fit for us, also because the new service permanently reduces traffic and environmental pollution in the neighborhood,” says Christoph Wöhlke, Managing Director IWAN BUDNIKOWSKY GmbH & Co. KG.
Instabox is currently shipping parcels from well-known and beloved brands like H&M, &Other Stories and Kids Brand Store in Germany, in addition, many more merchants have signed up and are currently integrating the Instabox services in the market. Customers choosing a delivery from Instabox can easily follow the route of their parcel to the minute via a digital tracking link. Once the parcel has arrived at Intabox's parcel locker, customers are able to pick up the parcel using the pin-code they were provided via a text message. Returns are also possible via Instabox.
“We are pleased to announce that we are expanding to Hamburg through our partnership with BUDNI. To be able to offer our fast, flexible and fossil-free deliveries to almost 3 million consumers in Hamburg is a milestone for us. Our automated smart lockers and innovative shipping service are both convenient for consumers and good for the planet as our fossil-free fleet reduces CO2 emissions” says David Lundqvist, Chief Commercial Officer at Instabox.
In its home market, Sweden, Instabox has challenged traditional players with more customer-friendly, faster (often same-day), and fossil-free deliveries and has quickly
overtaken many traditional players. Instabox has changed how consumers receive their e-commerce parcels by eliminating standing in line or having to stay at home all day to wait. Instabox enables customers to choose where, when and by whom their parcels are picked up by placing smart automated parcel lockers at convenient places.
On September 19th, Instabox announced its intent to join forces with Budbee. The combination is subject to approval by the Swedish Competition Authority. Read more HERE.
