Ingrid unveils a new brand identity and website, marking the next step in the Swedish energy-tech company’s expansion across the Nordics and Europe. The rebrand reflects how Ingrid has progressed according to plan — evolving from its starting point in grid-scale battery storage into a broader platform that combines energy storage infrastructure with advanced optimisation technology, green energy supply and offtake structures, and innovative grid services. Together, these solutions advance the company’s mission to make the power grid more intelligent, enabling a more resilient, flexible, and renewable-ready energy system.

INGRID EXPANDS CAPABILITIES TO MAKE THE GRID INTELLIGENT

Founded in 2022 as Ingrid Capacity, the company began with a clear belief: that the energy transition was being slowed by a power grid designed for another era. In just three years, Ingrid has grown from a small founding team into a Nordic energy-tech company combining several solutions to make the grid more intelligent.

By stabilising and strengthening the grid, improving system reliability, and creating the flexibility needed to manage fast-changing electricity demand, Ingrid helps unlock capacity in the existing power system and ease bottlenecks on local networks. In addition, Ingrid’s solutions support asset owners seeking more stable, predictable revenues and contribute to a more efficient system with more predictable electricity prices for households and industries.

“Our new brand represents who we are and where we are going. Our first chapter focused on rapidly scaling battery energy storage across the Nordics at strategic points in the power grid. Today, we are entering our second chapter, expanding across the Nordics and Europe with a suite of complementary solutions that make the grid more flexible and intelligent — including our flexible infrastructure and our in-house optimisation platform.” says Axel Holmberg, CEO of Ingrid.

Together with partners, Ingrid has invested more than SEK 2.5 billion into the Nordic energy system, built and currently constructing over 650 MWh of battery energy storage, and optimises more than 250 MWh of assets through its trading and optimisation platform. The company is also developing Finland’s largest battery energy storage system, now under construction. Ingrid currently employs more than 70 people across five markets.

INGRID CAPACITY BECOMES INGRID

The transition from Ingrid Capacity to Ingrid reflects the company’s broader technology and market ambitions. The new brand signals Ingrid’s role not only in building battery storage, but also in developing the infrastructure and software needed for an intelligent, flexible and renewable-ready grid throughout Europe.

“Rebranding is about clarity — for our partners, future colleagues and for ourselves. As we expand across Europe, we need a brand and identity that clearly expresses our purpose and the role we play in building the intelligent grid. ‘Ingrid’ stands for Intelligent Grid, and the new brand helps us tell that story with greater focus and consistency.” says Sandra Lindholm-Wu, Head of Communications at Ingrid.

The updated visual identity and website highlight Ingrid’s expanded solutions, international footprint and long-term direction as the company continues to scale.

About Ingrid

The future runs on electricity, but the system behind it is stuck in the past. Demand for clean power is accelerating, from electric vehicles and data centres to heating and heavy industry. Yet the power grid remains rigid, reactive and too slow to adapt. Ingrid builds the infrastructure and software that make the grid more intelligent, helping accelerate a resilient and clean energy transition. Our solutions include grid-scale energy storage, advanced optimisation for battery systems and renewable assets, green energy supply and offtake structures, and innovative grid services. By increasing grid flexibility, stabilising power flows and improving the utilisation of existing infrastructure, we help reduce grid bottlenecks, support the integration of new renewable generation and contribute to more stable, lower electricity prices. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Stockholm, Ingrid has 70+ employees, operates across the Nordics and is expanding throughout Europe. As of Q4 2025, we have more than 650 MWh of storage in operation or under construction, and over 250 MWh of assets optimised through our in-house trading and optimisation platform.
