InfiMotion Drives Commercial Vehicle Electrification at IAA

InfiMotion Technology concluded a successful IAA Transportation 2026, using the event as an important platform to showcase its growing capabilities in commercial vehicle electrification and engage with customers, partners, industry stakeholders and international media.
Throughout the exhibition, the InfiMotion team held numerous discussions around the future of electric mobility, with particular interest in how proven passenger-car electric drive technologies can be adapted and scaled for light, medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle applications.
The event also generated strong media interest, with several interviews taking place during IAA Transportation. These discussions provided an opportunity to explain not only what InfiMotion offers, but also why InfiMotion can bring value to commercial vehicle manufacturers.

From passenger cars to commercial vehicles

InfiMotion has supplied electric drives to more than 50 vehicle programmes, including light commercial vehicles. The company sees significant opportunities to transfer and adapt existing technology, development methods and industrial capabilities into the commercial vehicle segment.
This goes beyond simply transferring an e-motor or inverter from one vehicle application to another. InfiMotion can leverage synergies across hardware, software development and validation, industrialisation and purchasing, supported by sourcing volumes across materials including aluminium, electrical steel, copper and semiconductors. 

For commercial vehicles, development is driven by application-specific requirements such as continuous power, thermal management, durability, serviceability and vehicle uptime. These requirements can influence the complete system architecture and need to be considered early in the development process. 

Why InfiMotion?

InfiMotion combines electric drive technology, electronics, software and system integration with large-scale development and industrial capabilities.
For European commercial vehicles, this is already moving beyond ambition. InfiMotion has one light commercial vehicle application in production in Europe and another under development for a European OEM. 
At IAA Transportation, visitors could also see technologies including the TP501 ultra-light 900V coaxial dual-drive system and an inverter with an embedded power module. With the exception of the latter, which is planned to enter production next year, the technologies presented at the booth are already in production. This production experience, combined with development capabilities and an established supply chain, gives InfiMotion a foundation for supporting customers as commercial vehicle electrification develops across different applications and architectures.

Beyond the electric drive

IAA Transportation also provided an opportunity to present InfiMotion's expanding technology portfolio.
The company is entering the European charging market through its new Charging and Electronics business area. The IPC320 all-in-one DC fast charger offers rated power options of up to 320 kW and represents an additional area in which InfiMotion can support the transition towards electric mobility. 

At the same time, InfiMotion continues to develop increasingly integrated electric drive solutions. The company has had a 12-in-1 system in production since May 2024, while its next-generation 16-in-1 system introduces technologies including an 800V architecture, SiC power module, higher e-motor power and efficiency, a common inverter and reducer housing, and additional energy-management functions.

A successful IAA Transportation for InfiMotion

For InfiMotion, the success of IAA Transportation was therefore about more than displaying products. The event created a platform for customer dialogue, media engagement, technology discussions and new business conversations, while strengthening awareness of InfiMotion's capabilities within the European commercial vehicle market.
The discussions and interviews during the event reinforced several key messages: InfiMotion brings proven electric-drive experience, production scale, software and development capabilities, system integration and a growing portfolio designed to address the changing requirements of electrified mobility.
IAA Transportation 2026 marked another important step in bringing that story to the European commercial vehicle industry — and demonstrating how InfiMotion can help turn electrification strategies into scalable, production-ready solutions.
