Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Held for Girl Scout Experience Center in Mercer County

Hamilton Township, NJ (February 15, 2023) -Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey have opened a vibrant, new facility in the heart of Hamilton Township - an ideal space for Troops to learn skills, plan service projects and develop lasting relationships as part of their leadership journey. Mayor Jeff Martin and GSCSNJ CEO Ginny Hill were proud to join together at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The newly-opened Experience Center, which serves as a hub for Troops to gather, is also a place to support troop leaders and volunteers while strengthening ties between all parties involved. Mayor Jeff Martin is thrilled at its opening – "the center embodies our shared purpose of serving the people of Hamilton!"

The Girl Scout Experience Center is designed to enable Girls Scouts of all ages to unleash their creativity and develop new skills. Equipped with the latest tools, such as Maker Stations, allowing girls and volunteers alike can create everything from t-shirts to engrave leather, it truly offers an unmatched experience. There's also a Grow Station developed in response to Girl Scouts' requests;  it enables them to complete badge work related to gardening or sustainability projects. According to Ginny Hill, CEO, "The Girl Scout Experience Center embodies our reimagining what constitutes useable troop spaces, giving young girls essential life experiences through exploration and building self-confidence."

The Girl Scout Experience Center opening also included Senator Linda Greenstein, 14th Legislative District, Nina Melker, Chair of Mercer County Commissioners, and Cathleen Lewis, Mercer County Commissioner.

Melker shared with the Girl Scouts in attendance some of her fond memories of being a Girl Scout. Senator Greenstein also proudly shared that her support of Girl Scouting has been unwavering; in fact, she was inducted as an honorary Girl Scout as thanks for her ongoing commitment to girl empowerment.

Rachel Holland, Chairperson of the GSCSNJ Board of Directors, was joined by fellow Board members, Bob Pantialano, Treasurer; Kim Kleasen, Director; Steven Persche, Director.
