Cherry Hill, N.J. – June 19, 2024 – The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey (GSCSNJ) celebrates the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals at Cooper University Health Care and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper by donating 8,400 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. This act of gratitude reflects the deep appreciation for the dedication and commitment of these healthcare team members.

On June 18, at 1:30 PM, GSCSNJ CEO Ginny Hill, accompanied by Girl Scouts from Camden Troop 30077, presented the first 600 boxes to Toni Abassi, Vice President of Cancer Institute Strategy at MD Anderson at Cooper, alongside representatives from The Cooper Foundation. The remaining 7,800 boxes will be delivered to the hospital on June 21 for distribution to all employees.  To see WPVI-6ABC’s news coverage, PLEASE CLICK HERE

“The Girl Scouts are deeply grateful for the unwavering dedication of the healthcare workers at Cooper and MD Anderson at Cooper,” said Hill. “Their commitment to their patients and the community is truly inspiring, and we hope this small token of our appreciation brings a smile to their faces.”

The partnership between GSCSNJ and MD Anderson at Cooper extends beyond this donation. Earlier this year, MD Anderson at Cooper played a significant role in the GSCSNJ’s STEMinist program, providing education on STEM careers and opportunities in healthcare to Girl Scouts in Camden City.

“The support from MD Anderson at Cooper has been instrumental in empowering our Girl Scouts,” continued Hill. “Their involvement in the STEMinist program has provided invaluable experiences that will inspire these young women for years to come.”

Girl Scouts from Camden Troop 30077, including Aubry Freeman, Christina Rosendary, Angel Rosendary, and J’Nya Pennington, joined Ginny Hill in the presentation, underscoring the two organizations' community spirit and collaborative efforts.

“This gesture highlights the strong ongoing partnership between the Girl Scouts and MD Anderson at Cooper,” said Lisa Morina, Senior Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer at The Cooper Foundation. “Our organizations share a passion for community engagement and advancing healthcare careers for young women.”
