New Jersey State Capital Dome to Shine in Girl Scout Green: Celebrating 112 Years of Girl Empowerment
Trenton, NJ (March 11, 2024) — The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey (GSCSNJ) are thrilled to announce that in recognition of the enduring impact and vital contributions of Girl Scouts, the State of New Jersey will mark the 112th birthday of the Girl Scouts in a very special way.
On Tuesday, March 12th, the dome of the State Capital will be illuminated in the iconic Girl Scout green, symbolizing the state's support of the Girl Scouts' mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
This illuminating gesture is a tribute to the over 67,000 Girl Scouts and 35,000 Girl Scout Adult volunteers across four Councils1 in the state who bring the organization's impactful programming to life. GSCSNJ, which includes the Trenton region, proudly serves over 13,500 Girl Scouts with the support of over 10,000 volunteers.

Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
