Fristads hits a new industry milestone with the launch of Multinorm Green – a collection that combines uncompromising protection, exceptional durability and full-stretch comfort with verifiable sustainability. The new collection is the world’s first multinorm workwear to carry an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), reinforcing Fristads’ position at the forefront of sustainable innovation in workwear.
“Multinorm workwear has always been one of the most complex product categories to develop and for a long time, combining the highest safety standards with more sustainable materials was seen as impossible,” said Petra Öberg Gustafsson, Managing Director at Fristads. “With Multinorm Green, we show that it can be done.”
Reinventing multinorm protection
Developed over more than four years, Multinorm Green was rigorously tested, refined and co-created with users working in high-risk environments. At an early stage, Fristads involved key material suppliers to rethink the very foundation of multinorm fabrics. The result is a newly developed primary material that is certified to 100 industrial washes and made with more sustainable fibres, including organic cotton and traceable lyocell. With high-performance stretch fabrics and reinforced ripstop in high-wear areas, the garments offer both exceptional freedom of movement and durability in demanding conditions.
Multinorm Green is designed as a complete protection system, with trousers, bib n’ brace overalls, coveralls, jackets and tops that can be combined and layered as needed. The collection is designed for professionals working in high-risk environments and offers inherent protection against heat and flame, electric arc, static electricity and liquid chemicals, while also meeting high-visibility requirements. The protection is built into the fibres and lasts throughout the garment’s entire lifespan. In line with Fristads’ decision to phase out harmful “forever chemicals,” the collection is PFAS-free and certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, the global benchmark for safe textiles.
Making sustainability measurable
What truly sets Multinorm Green apart is that each garment comes with an EPD, providing third-party verified data on CO2 emissions and water use across the full life cycle, from raw material to end of life. For the first time in the multinorm segment, companies can access reliable data to support informed purchasing decisions and Scope 3 reporting.
“We are convinced that sustainability must be measurable to be credible,” said Lena Bay Højland, Product Director at Fristads. “By adding EPDs to one of the most demanding categories in workwear, we are raising the bar for the entire industry. The EPDs make it easier for our customers to choose protective clothing that delivers on environmental responsibility, without sacrificing safety, durability or performance.”
Most of the garments in the Multinorm Green collection will be available from autumn 2026.
