Tamron continues to boost the Sony E-mount system with yet another dynamic zoom. Today they announce the development of the world’s first 17-50mm zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the new 17-50mm F/4 Di III VXD.
Tailored specifically for Sony mirrorless cameras, this wide-angle zoom lens maintains a consistent F4 aperture, spanning across the spectrum from ultra wide-angle to standard focal lengths. Its versatile zoom range caters to both photography and videographers and is ideal for a wide range of photo and video applications, including landscapes, portrait, street, architecture and events.
Remarkable optical precision is maintained across the entire zoom range, resulting in great edge-to-edge sharpness. The lens is equipped with the advanced VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism, known for its quiet operation, swift responsiveness, and impeccable accuracy in autofocus. Additionally, its internal zoom mechanism contributes to exceptional balance, providing an enhanced user experience for filmmakers, since you don't have to rebalance it on a gimbal.
Its exceptional close-range shooting capability allows a MOD of 0.19m at the wide end and 0.3m at the telephoto end enabling users to get up close to subjects.
The new lens is a versatile "walk around" lens and offers unparalleled convenience and portability. It eliminates the need for frequent lens changes, making it an ideal choice for capturing a wide range of content, from expansive landscapes to spontaneous snapshots, both in stills and video.
