Insta360 announces the X4 Air, an 8K 360° camera that weighs only 165 grams.

The X4 Air captures everything around you in one take with 8K 360° video at 30 fps through its dual-lens system. With this "shoot first, frame later" approach, you focus on filming the moment. Later, the Insta360 app lets you extract the perfect angles, whether horizontal, vertical, or square. For traditional shooting, the camera offers single-lens 4K60 recording or MaxView mode at 4K30, which delivers an ultra-wide 170° field of view. When using the Invisible Selfie Stick, the camera automatically erases the mounting pole from your footage, creating impossible third-person perspectives that seem to float alongside the action.

At 165 grams, the X4 Air is light enough to mount anywhere—ski poles, helmets, or handlebars—without throwing off your balance or weighing you down. The camera is waterproof to 15 meters and operates reliably in extreme cold down to −20°C, making it suitable for winter sports and underwater shooting. FlowState stabilization uses advanced algorithms to smooth out bumps and shakes from your movement, while 360° Horizon Lock ensures the footage stays perfectly level no matter how the camera tilts or rotates. Together, these technologies deliver professional-looking results even when you're bombing down a mountain trail or navigating rough terrain.

The X4 Air has replaceable lenses that users can swap themselves when damaged. A built-in wind guard reduces audio interference. Controls include Twist to Shoot for operation with gloves, gesture control, and Voice Control 2.0 for hands-free recording.

Pre-Recording captures up to 30 seconds before pressing the shutter button. The camera includes Timelapse and TimeShift modes. The Insta360 app provides editing templates and AI-assisted tools, while the optional Insta360+ subscription adds 2TB cloud backup and cloud-based editing.

X4 Air comes in different bundles for specific need and is easy to adapt to a wide variety of activities. Motorcycle riders can control the camera through Bluetooth headsets, with automatic license plate blurring in footage. Cyclists can overlay performance data from Garmin devices or Apple Watch onto their videos. For winter sports, Twist to Shoot enables easy control while wearing gloves.
