Harman launches Phoenix II colour film in 35mm and 120

Harman Technology releases Phoenix II, an improved version of its popular colour negative film originally released in 2023. The new film is available in both 35mm and 120 formats and keeps the original’s distinctive look while addressing the most common feedback from users.

The updated film comes with a completely new emulsion that brings finer grain, sharper detail and smoother contrast. Scans come out cleaner with more natural colours, and both highlight and shadow areas show better retention. Thanks to a wider exposure latitude, everyday shooting is more forgiving—though accurate metering still gives the best results. Lab scans also tend to need less correction, with only minor tweaks to colour or contrast required.

As before, a portion of every sale supports ongoing research into new film stocks. A QR code inside each box allows users to share feedback directly with Harman.
