Focus Nordic starts to distribute Yashica Point-and-Shoot Cameras

Focus Nordic is pleased to announce that we will start to distribute the iconic camera brand Yashica, expanding our offering with their stylish range of point-and-shoot cameras. Known for a rich heritage dating back to 1949, Yashica built its reputation with legendary analogue models like the Electro 35 and the Yashica Mat-124G. Today, Yashica continues to embody its commitment to quality, simplicity, and affordability, focusing especially on entry-level digital photography.

In recent years, both analogue and digital point-and-shoot cameras have experienced renewed interest among young users, reflecting a broader cultural shift toward appreciating simpler, more tactile photographic experiences compared to the always-perfect images generated by modern smartphones.

"We’re seeing demand for point-and-shoot cameras among today’s younger generation, who prefer the tactile experience and distinctive aesthetic of a dedicated camera, rather than relying on their smartphones," says Marcus Westheimer Product Manager and responsible for Yashica at Focus Nordic.

Key reasons driving this popularity include affordability and accessibility, with point-and-shoot cameras typically easy-to-use and relatively inexpensive compared to high-end smartphones or DSLR/mirrorless setups.

The distribution will start with four models -Yashica DigiMate, DZ-100 x Hello Kitty, City 100, and City 200 models, all expected to be available from early summer 2025. Additional Yashica camera models will be introduced following the summer season.
