Today, Atomos introduces a new generation of Shogun monitors, the new Shogun and Shogun Ultra.
Both new monitors sport a 7-inch display boasting 2000 nits of brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even when used outdoors in direct sunlight. They come equipped with a comprehensive set of connectivity options, including IN-OUT 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 In & Out, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, AirGlu. Additionally, they offer an extensive range of codecs, including 6K Apple ProRes RAW (8K with Shogun Ultra), Apple ProRes, DNxHD, and H.265.
The two new monitors have two different modes, Local and Cloud. When set to Local the monitors utilizes the recently unveiled AtomOS 11 as their foundation. Both Shogun and Shogun Ultra are packed with an extensive monitoring suite that incorporates tools such as RecordAssist, PlaybackAssist, ELZone, ARRI false color. Moreover, they are preconfigured out of the box to seamlessly integrate into cloud-based workflows.
When set to Cloud it activates the monitors wireless and network capabilities, delivering top-tier Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and AirGlu wireless synchronization technology, granting access to cloud workflows such as camera-to-cloud and Atomos Edit. The revamped Shogun series enables advanced collaborative workflows through the Atomos Cloud Studio ACS.
Shogun Ultra takes things to the next level by optimizing its capabilities to support Dual Record ProRes RAW/H.265 for Camera to Cloud. Its versatility is further expanded with SDICine, which provides automated matching of filenames, timecode synchronization, and record triggering compatibility with professional cameras from ARRI, Canon, RED, and Sony SDI cameras.
