Angelbird unveils next-gen AV PRO CFexpress A cards

Angelbird CFexpress Type A VPG400

Angelbird is upgrading its renowned CFexpress Type A cards to streamline workflows and efficiently manage the large data requirements of Sony's high-resolution cameras. These updates aim to provide creative professionals with faster performance and reliable handling for smoother production processes.

The biggest news is that the new cards now have a VPG400 certification which means that the memory card can consistently maintain a write speed of at least 400 MB/s, making it suitable for professional-grade video recording and high-speed photography. The new card comes with fast read speeds of up to 1800 MB/s and write speed of 1650 MB/s further enhance efficiency, making file transfers quick and workflows seamless.

The cards are designed for durability and built to endure challenging environments, resisting extreme temperatures, moisture, dust, shock, x-rays, and magnetic interference. Advanced thermal management also helps prevent overheating, ensuring consistent performance in demanding conditions while Angelbird's Stable Stream-technology prevents frame drops.

The card is available in 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB capacities.

In connection with the update of the cards, a new card reader is also released to speed up the workflow. The new Angelbird PKT card reader is a compact powerhouse built for portability and efficiency. The new card reader is available for CFexpress type A and B and SD UHS-II. It is robustly constructed and comes with a cover for the memory card so that the card is protected at all times. The reader connects easily via USB-C and can deliver speeds up to 20Gb/s.
