Celestron OriginThe new Celestron Origin telescope is an all-in-one home observatory that eliminates the complexity of traditional telescopes, transforming any backyard, campsite or living room into a gateway to the cosmos.
The new Celestron Origin telescope features a patented 6” Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) optical design paired together with an ultra-fast f/2.2 focal ratio. Thanks to the wide-field f/2.2 system, the new telescope offers two huge advantages over traditional astroimaging telescopes: better apparent tracking and shorter exposures. A 6.4 MP STARVIS back-illuminated camera sensor with ultra-high sensitivity-low noise technology produces an image with greater clarity and detail than is possible with a much larger traditional telescope.
After a target is selected from the Celestron Origin app, Origin automatically centres the desired celestial object in its wide field of view and can start capturing and displaying images on your smartphone or tablet in seconds. AI image processing technology then continues to automatically refine the image further in real-time, achieving a stellar level of detail that far surpasses what is viewable through a traditional telescope eyepiece.
In conjunction with the launch, Celestron is also releasing a new nebular filter to reduce light pollution. The filter greatly enhances the telescope for nebular imaging, especially in light-polluted skies, and is highly recommended for getting the best images of a wide range of nebulae.
