Propane Homeowners Urged to Prepare for Winter

Winter is officially here! Regardless of whether you’ve seen your first snowflakes of the season or experienced temperatures below the freezing mark, it’s an important reminder to propane homeowners across the country that some of the coldest temperatures of the year will be here soon and that there’s no better time to check their propane tank percentage and schedule a fill.

“Winter always seems to arrive without notice,” Vice President/Head of Ferrellgas Retail Ray Galan said. “That’s why it’s so important for propane homeowners to plan ahead. It’s our busiest time of year and a time when road conditions can be their most challenging. Customers who plan in advance will be best prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way this year.”

Here are some of the important things for propane homeowners to keep in mind now that winter is officially here:

• Will Call customers are asked to closely monitor their propane tank percentage and contact Ferrellgas to schedule a delivery when it reaches 30 percent. Customers are asked to plan ahead and allow a minimum of seven business days for their delivery.
• Customers should provide a clear path to their propane tank on the day of their scheduled delivery. This includes removing snow from any walkways and remembering to unlock any gates leading to their propane tank. An obstructed path or locked gate could prevent drivers from making a delivery.
• Call volumes are heaviest during the winter months. Please allow plenty of time when contacting your propane provider during this period. Keep in mind there are other ways to manage your propane account and contact Ferrellgas, including the free MyFerrellgas customer portal and the ability to initiate a live chat from anywhere on the company’s website.
• It’s never too late to enroll in Ferrellgas’ Auto Fill program, through which automatic deliveries are scheduled when the company’s records indicate a customer needs a fill. Digital tank monitoring, which allows propane users to view their tank level in real-time from their MyFerrellgas account, provides additional assurances as well.

With opportunities to build snowmen, go on a sleigh ride with family and friends, and sit by the propane-powered fireplace to watch the snow fall outside, there’s so much to love about winter. Propane homeowners can add even more joy to the season by checking their propane tank level and scheduling their next delivery.
