Earth Day: Propane’s Role in “Our Power, Our Planet”

Every year, Earth Day gives Ferrellgas the chance to raise awareness about the environmental benefits of propane. This year’s theme is, “Our Power, Our Planet.”

What makes propane an environmentally friendly fuel? It’s clean burning, non-toxic, and emits 52% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to an equivalent amount of grid-generated electricity, according to the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). Propane is also recognized as one of the cleanest renewable fuels under the Clean Air Act. In addition, it can be used in many ways, including heating homes, drying crops, powering school buses, and fueling backyard memories.

On Earth Day and every day, Ferrellgas takes its responsibility to the environment seriously. We believe in giving back to the communities where our employee-owners live and work. That’s one of the reasons why we created the Ferrellgas Century Project: to support important environmental initiatives. We believe that together, we can make a difference and create a better tomorrow. It all starts by sharing knowledge and raising awareness so that we can protect our planet.
