It’s going to be cold and snowy in many parts of the country during the 2023-24 winter season. That’s according to the editors of both the Old Farmer’s Almanac and Farmer’s Almanac, publications that have been making weather predictions for more than 200 years.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac is calling for snowfall that’s above average in most snow-prone areas of the country, especially the Northeast and Midwest, where they’re predicting snowfall will begin in early November and continue through the beginning of spring. The Farmer’s Almanac says to expect a “return to the brrr.” It’s calling for “an unusually snowy and wet winter” in the Pacific Northwest. And if an El Niño were to materialize, the entire Southwest could see significant amounts of rain and snow.
These forecasts provide an important reminder to those who use propane to heat their home or business to ensure their propane system is ready to keep them warm before the winter season.
Ferrellgas’ Will Call customers are responsible for monitoring their tank level and allowing up to seven business days for their delivery from the date the order is placed. Demand for propane picks up considerably during the winter months, and the icy and snowy road conditions that sometimes occur can delay the company’s ability to make safe deliveries. Ferrellgas provides timely reminders to Will Call customers throughout the year, but customers need to keep a close eye on their fuel level and plan ahead for their propane needs.
Propane users who prefer to not make that long, cold walk to their tank can sign up for Ferrellgas’ Auto Fill program, through which automatic deliveries are scheduled when the company’s systems indicate the customer is ready for a fill. Best of all, customers who qualify get the convenience and dependability of the Auto Fill program at no additional cost.
Digital tank monitoring is also available to Ferrellgas customers who want to enjoy the many benefits of Auto Fill while also knowing the amount of propane in their tank. Customers can monitor their tank level in real-time via the free MyFerrellgas.com customer portal, which also enables customers to update their account information, pay their bill, and more from their smart phone or computer.
We know that weather forecasts aren’t perfect, but it’s safe to say that millions across the country will rely on propane to heat their homes and businesses this winter. Give Ferrellgas a call today and make sure you’re ready!
