A Clear Path To The Tank Helps Ensure Wintertime Deliveries

A lot goes into making deliveries to the hundreds of thousands of propane homeowners who put their faith in Ferrellgas. From ensuring annual propane supply contracts are in place to hiring and training the best drivers and customer-service personnel in our industry to developing online tools that provide an easy and hassle-free experience and so much more, Ferrellgas is the logistics company focused on Fueling Life Simply for its valued customers.

Ferrellgas is a nationwide company serving customers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Many of the company’s residential propane customers rely on Ferrellgas the most during the cold (sometimes frigid) winter months. It’s an awesome responsibility and important commitment Ferrellgas makes to many.

Propane homeowners also have responsibilities to help ensure these important deliveries are made. One is the need to ensure there’s a clear path for drivers from their trucks to customer propane tanks.

Here are the things Ferrellgas asks customers to do to help ensure deliveries can be made.

  • Provide a clear path to the tank, removing any snow and/or ice in that path.
  • Driveways utilized by drivers during delivery must also be cleared of any ice or snow. These large vehicles can slide easily on icy driveways, especially those that aren’t flat. Drivers must sometimes back into driveways to get close enough to the customer tank to make a delivery.
  • Unlock any gates leading to a propane tank.
  • Ensure that pets are leashed, kenneled, or indoors during the period when expecting a delivery. Deliveries must sometimes be abandoned when large, excited pets are outdoors and in the path of a propane tank.
  • Mark any underground or aboveground tank buried in snow with a yardstick or shovel or broom handle. If possible, place a bright-colored handkerchief on the end of the stick or handle to better direct drivers to a tank’s location.

Ferrellgas places the highest emphasis on the safety of its employees, customers, and members of the communities it serves. We ask customers to follow these important steps to help ensure safe and efficient deliveries to everyone counting on us throughout the year.
