Nominations now open for the Scheele Award

Apotekarsocieteten is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the Scheele Award, one of Sweden’s most prestigious scientific awards in the pharmaceutical field. Nominations will be accepted from 8 April to 18 September.

The Scheele Award is presented biennially to an internationally renowned scientist who has made outstanding and lasting contributions to pharmaceutical research and drug development. The award aims to promote scientific excellence and innovation that advance the discovery and development of new medicines for the benefit of patients worldwide.

— The Scheele Award recognizes researchers whose work has fundamentally shaped modern pharmaceutical science and continues to influence future therapies, says Johanna Wikman, Chair of the Board, Apotekarsocieteten.

The award has been presented since 1961 and is named after the renowned chemist and pharmacist Carl Wilhelm Scheele. In conjunction with the award ceremony, a scientific symposium is organized, bringing together leading researchers and experts from Sweden and the international scientific community to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration within the pharmaceutical sciences.
